Sorry about that. Just havin a wee bit of fun yelling at the top of my
lungs. Well now I'll get to my magnificent tutorial.
So you want to make a jersey patch for people to download. That's very
commendable. This is going to teach you how to use the jersey installer
to do just that. If you don't know how to USE the jersey installer
to simply INSTALL a jersey, then please read the readme here.
Making a jersey patch is really quite simple. Enter all your
jersey's information into the boxes, as you would if you were installing
a jersey for yourself. I would recommend leaving the slot box blank;
chances are your user wants to install to all save slots.
If you need help picking a shoe or colour to go with your jersey,
please check out these great charts I've made.

Colour Chart
Ok, now that you've got all your information entered in, click "Make Patch"
at the top, or simply press Alt-M. This will open a small dialog box.
You will see 2 fields. The first one is the prefix box. In here you
fill in the 2 letter prefix of your team, for example Toronto is to and
Boston is bo i think (hehehe bo, boston or body odour). So just type
in the 2 letters in this box.
The second box is for the name of the *.jer file that is going to be created.
This is what the user will have to know to click on, so make it something
good, like Toronto_94-95_Install or something like that. Just enter the
filename, no file extensions or anything. Here's what one looked like for
my Almonte jersey install:

Then click "ok". You should see a popup box that says "Patch file
created: yourpatchname.jer" or something like that. The file is
created in the same directory jersey installer is saved in, which
should be the nba live 2003 directory in my downloads, you did read
the readme right?
That's really all you have to do. When you double click on the *.jer
file, it will probably say open with, go browse, find the jersey installer,
click open, and the patch will be automatically installed before your
eyes. Go ahead, try it!
The other neat feature is that the .fsh files will automatically be moved
to c:\program files\ea sports\nba live 2003\render\xteam if they are in
the jersey installer folder to start. If this folder isn't already there,
it will be created.
Important Notes and Tips
- The graphics files will only be moved to the correct folder if the user
has it installed in c:\program files\ea sports\nba live 2003, you should
probably mention this in your patch readme.
- In your readme, mention how the install to all save slot feature works,
as outlined in my readme.
- Invent a unique name for your patch (the four letter part in the FSh
file name). Don't use cl02 or something because if the user already has
a cl02 in the folder, it will not be overwritten, but another one will
be added to the teamgear.dbf folder. Use something neat, like crap or
2002 or something.
- DO NOT OPEN THE .JER FILE WITH ANYTHING BUT THE JERSEY INSTALLER! If
you get the prefix wrong or something, make a new one! Opening it with
notepad and saving it will result in corrupt installation data.
Well that's all I can think of for now. If there is confusion I will
probably make another tutorial. Hopefully there isn't.
See ya lata
